Summary
A tree explains why autumn is the hardest
season. Winter is easy because its branches are bare. Springtime is easy
because its leaves start to grow. Summer is easy because the sun is out. The
tree, however, gets into trouble during the fall because its leaves won't
change to the right colors. Instead the leaves resemble a rainbow, a smiley
face, planet Earth, and a pumpkin, among other funny things. The tree's
patience is about to run out but winter arrives, and its leaves fall off.
Comments
The subtle illustrations and the rhythmic text
teach young children about the changing of the seasons and how these affect
trees.
I think this is a beautiful book - the whole concept and the illustrations. :)
